Serial Port Terminal - How to receive binary file via X-modem?
Advanced Serial Port Terminal allows you to receive any file sent from remote computer or device over serial port connection using X-modem protocol.
To accomplish this task do the following:
- Select "File" -> "New session" from the Main Menu to open "New session" dialog
- Select necessary connection settings to match the ones of remote COM port
- Click "Open" button
- Select "File" -> "Open port" or click corresponding Toolbar
button in order to open local serial port if it is not already opened
- Click "Receive via X-modem" Toolbar button
- "Save As" file selection dialog will appear where you may select
file name to save incoming text stream. If you select existing file you will be
prompted with a warning message that you may overwrite some data.
- New pop-up window will appear, indicating the transfer
progress
- Now remote serial port may send a file
- Once transfer is finished you will get confirmation message that
file was successfully sent or error message if any problems occur
