Serial Port Monitor is distributed as a single package: serial_port_monitor.exe (may be ZIPped). This is a Windows Installer file packed into convenient executable. Please, use the following procedure to install Serial Port Monitor in your computer:
1. Launch the downloaded serial_port_monitor.exe file. Follow the steps offered by the installation wizard.
2. After the product is successfully installed, run it either directly from the installer, or using any of the shortcuts created.
Notes:
1) Serial Port Monitor package, all drivers and executable files are digitally signed. At any time you can verify the digital signatures of the files in order to ascertain they come from Eltima Software. To do this click the right mouse button on Serial Port Monitor package or executable file, select "Properties --> Digital Signatures".
2) After launching the downloaded serial_port_monitor.exe file you may see the following error:
It means that you are a user with limited rights, not the administrator of this PC. Make sure that you have all required privileges in order to run Microsoft Windows Installer package on the local machine. You must be a member of Administrators group or you must have an Install Device Drivers privilege assigned to you by the administrator of the local machine in order to successfully install the software.
