Remote installation of something has become a really popular feature recently. Someone is always trying to intrude into other's system without having physical possibility, or else. And what actually frustrates is that everyone on the net keeps telling that it is possible, and simple as a click!

And what actually happens: users believe, and continue loading trojans and backdoors with mailware into their system, hoping they can send this executable to another PC via e-mail and get full control of it. But reality is not Hollywood, actually.

Every so-called remote installation feature in fact is nothing else but a false advertising. After trying this feature you will not only get into trouble, but it will simply not work!

It's possible today!

It is theoretically impossible today to remote install something to another PC without having admin rights there. Of course if we speak about viruses and hacking activities, then it is generally feasible to intrude into remote PC, but that is definitely not done in 2 clicks, and by just sending a "seemingly unharmful" executable.

You should know, that it is simply impossible to 1) hide an installer into an image; 2) invisibly install software when a user clicks your link; 3) today it is even almost impossible to send an executable file as an attachment in your e-mail!

Do you know many people who will blindly launch an executable, PIF file, screensaver or .bat file attached in an e-mail, even if it comes from a friend? We don't. 99% of mail servers today will not even send an e-mail with potentially installable attachment. Think about it. Gmail, MSN, mail.com will not accept your e-mail and will silently drop it without delivery notification.

Seriously, don't believe that you can easily intrude into other system! Vista will not let you run anything without explicit permission, or even special "Run as administrator" option.
