Advanced Keylogger - Secretly monitor your PC

Once you have Advanced Keylogger installed in your system for monitoring, you have been told how to unhide it. This is the very first action to do to get into Advanced Keylogger dialogs and configuration options. So, once again to reiterate:

Unhiding

To unhide Advanced Keylogger at any time you just need to press CTRL+ALT+SHIFT+R simultaneously. This is the default unhide hotkey. You may customize it in Advanced Keylogger configuration/personalization dialog. Once you press the unhide hotkey combination, you will see the unhide password dialog, it looks like this:

Here's an important issue you should know about. You can set the unhide password as additional protection in the configuration dialog. If you already did this, don't forget to enter the password in the corresponding dialog which you see immediately after you press the unhide hotkey combination. Press Escape if you want to close the password dialog without entering the software.

This is it! You are in:

Closer look

Ok, so what do we have here? The main screen, which we call Welcome screen, has all the features you will need. From this point you will be able to access all parts of Advanced Keylogger. In the top of this window you will find the main switch which can turn Advanced Keylogger ON and OFF. Note, that this switch DOES NOT uninstall Advanced Keylogger but just disables it for some time until you enable it again.

To view the recorded logs and configure Advanced Keylogger you should use the BIIIG buttons a little bit lower from the switch. The first row represents the logs which you can read. The second one will help you to Personalize Advanced Keylogger, clear all the logs which you have now and open this user manual.

Quick Tasks are just a set of convenient shortcuts for the most common actions you may do.

At the bottom of the Welcome screen you will find some statistics concerning your copy of Advanced Keylogger:

Reading logs

Once you get in Advanced Keylogger, you are ready to view the logs it has recorded and stored for you. The best way to start working with Advanced Keylogger will be to unhide it and click the "View all new logs" button. This will immediately show you all new logs since the last time you visited Advanced Keylogger.

Alternatively for more flexibility you should just selected the log which you are planning to view (one of the BIG buttons): logon passwords, keystrokes, screenshots, web-activity or clipboard. This will bring you to the Logs Viewer screen, where you have all the control over logs' reading.

Once you get into the Logs Viewer you have several controls you should be aware of:

  • ...back to Welcome screen - this button at the top of the Logs Viewer will return you to the Welcome screen. All the logs which you viewed during this session will be marked as read, and once you use "View new logs" button in future, these logs will not be shown any more.
  • Log switchers - use these 5 buttons to switch between logs, to view keystrokes, passwords, screenshots, or websites.
  • Hide special symbols - this link will help you hide special symbols like spaces, CTRL, ALT, SHIFT, Tab, Enter from the log which you are currently reading. Click it again and you will be able to see non-printable characters again.
  • Calendar - probably the most important part of the Logs Viewer, this is a simple Vista-like calendar, where you select the date you would like to view the logs for. Simply select the date, and click "Regenerate logs", and you will see the logs available for the selected day, or get a message that the log is empty. The calendar does not work in multiselection mode.
  • Recorded logs - these are the logs which were gathered by Advanced Keylogger, each entry is split into several fields: entry id, username, window, application and the text which was captured, or the URL, or a screenshot, or clipboard text. This is very simple. Once you switch between the logs, you will get acquainted with the logs layout easily.
  • Clear this log - this button will just clear the log which you feel you have already reviewed. Please, note that clearing the log will completely remove all the recorded info from your hard drive, and you won't be able to recover them.
