Powered Keylogger - E-mailing logs

E-mailing logs
Powered Keylogger can send logs to a custom e-mail address absolutely invisibly providing flexibility to view logs remotely, without the need of getting back to the monitored PC from time to time.

NOTE: This option is created for receiving Powered Keylogger logs from the PC that is being monitored to your own e-mail account. To monitor e-mail activity, please, enable Record e-mail activity option.

To enable logs e-mailing, please, click "Options" Navigation Toolbar button, click "Advanced Options" button in Dialog Pane, switch to "E-mail" tab and enable "Send logs via e-mail" checkbox.

The next step is specifying additional parameters which are the following:

  • Interval

Interval defines the period of time at which you would like Powered Keylogger to send logs to you. The default value is 1 hour.

  • Clear log when sent

Once this option is enabled Powered Keylogger will automatically clear the logs on successful sending to the specified e-mail address.

  • Mail From

This option specifies the sender's email address. In most of the cases you may safely define Mail From files the same as recipient's (yours) address. However, if you experience persistent problems with receiving mailed logs, please, contact your system administrator to find out which valid e-mail address you may use.

  • Mail To

This option defines the recipient's e-mail address (where logs will be delivered to).

  • SMTP Server

Specify SMTP server which will be used to send e-mails. If not sure, please, contact your system administrator to find out what SMTP server is available (or use our "Suggest SMTP server" automation wizard).

  • Port

This is SMTP port used to connect to SMTP server. By default, this value is equal to 25.

  • Send test e-mail

By clicking this button you may send a test e-mail using parameters you specified above. In case you have any problems with receiving test e-mail, make sure that SMTP Server name and Mail From parameters are correct. If the computer you are using to send e-mails has firewall enabled, please, make sure that 25th port is not blocked.

  • Suggest SMTP server

This option lets the Powered Keylogger to find a suitable SMTP server for your target e-mail address automatically. Please, note that you should have internet connection enabled to use this feature.

  • SMTP authentication

Some SMTP servers require authorization to verify your identity which is used to combat spammers. If your SMTP server requires login/password (please, don't mix it with POP3/IMAP authorization which is different), enable this option. If not sure, please, contact your system administrator. Please, note that SMTP authorization mechanism (CRAM-MD5, PLAIN, LOGIN) is detected automatically.

  • Login and Password

Please, type in your SMTP login and password to authenticate at the server.

Some Firewalls and Anti-virus utilities can prevent e-mailing logs from an unknown software or process. Be sure to check our "Known issues" section of the manual for instructions on configuration and bypassing these products.

Logs are sent in Powered Keylogger's internal format (PKL) and do not contain Screenshots, even if you have this type of logs enabled. If you enabled sending logs, a letter with logs will contain 1 attachment: a PKL file. To view these logs, follow these instructions:

  1. Stop Powered Keylogger (click "Options" Navigation Toolbar button and then "Stop recording")
  2. Save attached PKL file to any folder on your hard drive.
  3. Point the Keylogger to this file, using the Log Path field in Calendar section.
  4. Then you can select "This computer" entry to get back to viewing logs from your current PC.

Please, note that you can install Logs Viewer separately if you don't need the keylogger on your PC and read logs you receive via e-mails.
