SyncMate - Contacts

"Contacts" plugin provides you with the ability to synchronize your Address Book with your Google contacts, contacts at your Windows Mobile device, Nokia S40 or Sony PSP, Windows Address Book (WinXP) or Vista contacts and between Macs. If there is an Online Backup connection available on the list, you are able to backup your Address Book contacts as well.

Please, read the following information carefully to start the synchronization correctly.

Step 1. Synchronization can be done in three directions:

  • Both directions
  • From Mac to other side
  • From other side to Mac

Step 2. Choose how to display surnames and names order: Do not change, Name first or Surname first:

Step 3. If you tick "Sync only contacts with phone numbers" checkbox, contacts without phone numbers will not be synchronized.

Step 4. Now you are able to manage:

  • "Sync all groups" will sync all categories of contacts to other side
  • "Sync all contacts to this group" - will sync all contacts to a specified folder.
  • "Sync only selected groups" - gives you the ability to sync only selected categories of contacts

Step 7. Finally, click "Sync now" button.

Notes:

  • The order of contacts display will be set only when synchronizing new contacts, whereas existing contacts will stay without changes. To change display order of all contacts set the required synchronization direction (e.g. Mac > Mobile device), delete all contacts on your device, set the required order of contacts display, finally, synchronize.
  • If you are using Microsoft Entourage the following settings should be switched on to synchronize them with Mac analogues: Calendar, Address Book and Notes. Read how to activate them in this section.
  • If you are syncing your Mac Address Book with Address Book on Windows XP or 2000, only the contacts, located in "Main Identity's Contacts" folder on your Windows OS, will be synced with Address Book at your Mac. Contacts from "Shared Contacts" folder won't be synced.
