USB to Ethernet Connector - Toolbar

USB-to-Ethernet Connector's toolbar consists of two tabs:
"Share local USB devices" and "Remote USB device" that lets you manage local and remote USB devices respectively.


1. Share local USB devices

  • Share local USB devices

Use this button to share local USB devices (ones that physically attached to this PC). Remote hosts (as well as localhost) could access shared USB device on demand if they have USB-to-Ethernet Connector installed and configured appropriately.

  • Unshare local USB device

Disconnect all remote hosts from selected shared USB device. Once the device is unshared, you may access it in a usual way.

  • Unshare all local USB devices

Disconnect all remote hosts from all shared USB devices in a system and gain full access to local resources.

  • Filter

"Filter" options lets you choose which USB ports/devices should be displayed in USB devices tree to simplify workplace when lots of USB devices are present. If none of the filters are applied you will see all USB ports present in a system (no matter whether USB device is attached or not). "Shared USB ports only" option (if enabled) filters only shared USB ports (allowed to be connected to). "Show only present device" option will display only those USB ports that have physical USB devices attached to. Finally, "Show only connected devices " will show only those USB hosts that have connection established. Please, note that the first 2 options are available if you have switched to "Share local USB devices" tab and the last one is available for remote USB ports.

2. Remote USB devices

  • Add remote device

Add selected USB port to the list of available ports in USB devices tree. This step is necessary before establishing connection.

  • Delete remote device

Remove USB port from the list of available ports in USB devices tree.

  • Establish connection

Establish connection to remote/local USB device. Once connection is successfully established, new device will appear in "Device Manager" (alternatively, "Add Hardware Wizard" will be launched).

  • Disconnect

Use this option to disconnect from selected remote/local USB device.

  • Filter
