USB to Ethernet Connector - Usage basics

This section of User Manual provides a simple and illustrative step-by-step guide how to get familiar with USB to Ethernet Connector as quickly as possible. This guide assumes that you have already installed USB to Ethernet Connector and it is launched.

To be able to access USB device from any computer in your local network you must install USB to Ethernet Connector on both computers: one on PC that has USB device attached to (let's call it "server") and the second one on PC that is going to connect to the remote USB device ("client"). Each side can be configured as server and as client depending to what side USB device is attached. The procedure of connecting to remote USB device includes sharing USB port on the server-side, searching for shared remote USB devices and connecting to remote device on the client-side.

  • Server-side: share USB device on the host that has USB device physically attached. To accomplish this task simply switch to "Share local USB devices" tab, select USB port to share and click "Share local USB devices" button, which is located at Toolbar.

  • Client-side: search for available shared USB ports on client host. Switch to "Remote USB devices" tab, click "Add remote device" button, in the new "Add remote USB device" window, please, click "Find all" button and select the required device from the list.
